Madari Ridge & Fire Lookout Trail

Exhilarating 1,613m cliffside ridge walk delivering uninterrupted 360-degree panoramas across the entire island.

Rising to 1,613 meters, the Madari peak is the second highest point in Cyprus. Perched dramatically on a sheer crag is the 'Adelfoi' Forestry Fire Lookout station.

The circular Madari nature trail hugs a dramatic rocky crest known as the 'Wall of Madari'. On clear days, visibility extends from Morphou Bay and the Pentadaktylos range in the north all the way to the southern Mediterranean coast.

Tips before you go

  • Sturdy hiking boots are essential for maneuvering the rocky, uneven crest path.
  • Climb the exterior steel staircase of the lookout for Cyprus's ultimate panoramic viewpoint.
  • Bring a windproof jacket as strong mountain breezes are common above 1,600m.

How to get there

Accessible via mountain roads from Spilia or Kyperounta villages directly up to the Madari parking area.
