Agros Rose Village & Distilleries

Cyprus's rose capital famed for Damascus rosewater distilleries, artisan spoon sweets, and cured meats.

Perched at 1,100 meters in the verdant Pitsilia mountain region, Agros is legendary for its fragrant Damask roses (Rosa damascena). Entire terraced valleys bloom with soft pink blossoms each spring.

Local family distilleries extract pure rosewater, essential oils, and organic skincare. The village is equally celebrated for homemade fruit preserves and traditional cured smoked meats such as hiromeri and lountza.

Tips before you go

  • Experience the early morning rose harvest between 06:00 and 08:00 during May.
  • Taste unique rose liqueur, rose-petal tea, and rose-infused dark chocolate.
  • Stop by traditional smokehouses to sample authentic wine-marinated hiromeri.

How to get there

45 minutes drive north of Limassol via route E110 through the scenic Pitsilia hills.
