Karpaz Golden Beach (Nangomi Bay)

Miles of rolling golden dunes and turquoise waters; celebrated as the Mediterranean's most pristine wild beach.

Stretching for over four uninterrupted kilometers along the southern flank of the Karpaz panhandle, Golden Beach (Nangomi Bay) is universally recognized as one of the finest wild beaches in Europe.

Vast sand dunes roll gently down into crystalline aquamarine waters. Free from paved promenades or hotel towers, it remains a protected nature sanctuary where endangered green and loggerhead turtles lay their eggs.

Tips before you go

  • Bring complete sun protection and plenty of drinking water as beach facilities are sparse.
  • Simple wooden eco-cabins perched on the bluffs offer off-grid overnight stays.
  • Unrivaled stargazing at night with zero light pollution.

How to get there

Drive 15 km east of Dipkarpaz village along the main route towards Cape Apostolos Andreas.
