Oroklini Lake & Bird Observatory Hide

Protected Natura 2000 wetland featuring a two-story wooden bird-watching hide and breeding wading birds.

Oroklini Lake is a crucial European Natura 2000 wetland reserve. It is one of only two natural wetlands in Cyprus hosting breeding populations of the Black-winged Stilt and the Spur-winged Lapwing.

A dedicated wooden bird hide provides quiet, sheltered observation windows overlooking the marsh, furnished with informative illustrated identification guides.

Tips before you go

  • Bring binoculars or a long lens for great bird photography.
  • Maintain quiet inside the hide so as not to disturb resting waterfowl.
  • Informational panels detail the diverse migratory species visiting Cyprus.
