Monastery of Saint John Lampadistis

UNESCO World Heritage timber-roofed monastery complex in the Marathasa Valley housing exceptional Byzantine frescoes.

One of the famed painted churches of the Troodos region protected by UNESCO. The complex unites three distinct churches spanning the 11th to 15th centuries beneath a single colossal pitched timber roof.

Its walls showcase extraordinary Byzantine and Italo-Byzantine frescoes. Set opposite the spa village of Kalopanayiotis overlooking the Setrachos river.

Tips before you go
