Tzelefos Venetian Bridge

The largest and most photogenic 16th-century Venetian stone arch bridge spanning the Diarizos River in Paphos Forest.

Built during the Venetian era in the 16th century, the single-arch Tzelefos Bridge once formed part of the historic camel trail transporting copper from the Troodos mines down to Paphos harbor.

Framed by towering plane trees and alder foliage, its cobble-paved arch reflects in the clear mountain stream below.

Tips before you go

  • Fully accessible via paved mountain roads—no 4x4 required.
  • A marked forest hiking trail connects Tzelefos Bridge to Elia Venetian Bridge.
  • Watch your step on the smooth, centuries-worn river cobblestones.
