Episkopi Rock (The Cyprus Meteora)

Colossal 70-meter freestanding limestone monolith towering over the Ezousa River Valley.

Rising dramatically above the traditional village of Episkopi, this striking sheer cliff is the largest geological monolith in Cyprus, earning it the title 'Meteora of Cyprus'.

The sheer rock face provides nesting crevices for peregrine falcons, jackdaws, and swifts. At its base sits the environmental center, while a panoramic walking trail ascends the ridge for sweeping vistas across the river gorge.

Tips before you go

  • Visit the Episkopi Environmental Centre at the rock's base to view nesting falcon cams.
  • Hike the marked ridge trail for breathtaking bird's-eye valley photography.
  • Sunset casts dramatic golden light directly across the massive vertical rock wall.

How to get there

11 km northeast of Paphos following signs through Konia and Marathounta.
