Droushia Village & Heritage Weaving

High-altitude Laona village (630m) renowned for cooling mountain breezes, heritage loom weaving, and peninsula vistas.

Droushia takes its name from the Greek word 'drosia', meaning cool freshness. Situated at 630 meters above sea level on the edge of the Akamas hills, it enjoys refreshing breezes throughout the heat of summer.

The stone village retains heritage loom weaving workshops, a charming Weaving Museum, and sweeping panoramic views encompassing Chrysochou Bay on one side and the untamed Akamas ridge on the other.

Tips before you go

  • Visit the local Weaving Museum to see operational antique wooden looms.
  • The terrace at Droushia Heights Hotel offers an astonishing 180-degree view over the entire bay.
  • Taste fresh artisan goat halloumi produced by local shepherds.

How to get there

10 km south of Polis or 25 km north of Paphos via Stroumbi and Kathikas.
