Non-EU residents living in Cyprus must exchange their driving license within 6 months of obtaining residency. EU driving licenses remain valid until their expiration date. Applications are processed at the Department of Road Transport (DoRT).

A standard national driving license in Latin script (EU, UK, US, etc.) is accepted for tourist rentals. Most local agencies require 3+ years of driving experience and age 21–25+. Cyprus drives on the left, and rental cars have red license plates.
